How to Clean the Dishwasher
Most of us clean the kitchen every day. Dishwashers don’t need to be washed as often as they wash the dishes, but it’s a job that needs to be done at least once a month. This is because, over time, food and dirt residues washed from our dishes build up in our dishwasher, reducing its efficiency. Since most of us want to eat from clean plates, the inside of the dishwasher must be clean. Since people rarely think about washing a dishwasher, many of us don’t know how to do it. Follow the tips in this article to learn how to clean your dishwasher and make sure you’re eating from a clean plate!
Before cleaning, always make sure that all dishes are removed and all programs are turned off. Then look for the turning arms in the dishwasher. Utilize a moist sponge or fabric for cleaning. You can also see the hole in the arms. Make sure there is no dirt in this hole so that water can flow freely through it.
Then we need to clean the door. When cleaning the dishwasher door, pay particular attention to the door edges that do not get wet during cleaning. These are the dirtiest places because they are not cleaned during washing the dishes. Also, pay close attention to the bottom of the door as it won’t get wet during the cycle as well. After cleaning the door, check the bottom of the dishwasher and wipe the dirt off with a damp cloth or sponge.
After wiping the dishwasher briefly with your hands, you can begin removing any water or limescale deposits. To do this, place a cup filled with white distilled vinegar, baking soda, or other dishwashing detergents on the dish basket. Close the dishwasher and run a full cycle. Once this cycle is complete, remove the mold and mildew by running another cycle, this time with a small amount of bleach. Make sure you never add any other detergents that contain bleach and skip this process if the inside of your dishwasher is made of stainless steel.
Most of us don’t even think about cleaning the dishwasher. However, our dishwasher must work perfectly. If you have a dishwasher, clean it at least once a month to keep your dishes clean and eat from a clean plate!
